Republican incumbent Justice Bill Whitehill of Dallas’ Fifth Court of Appeals is running for reelection against Judge Dennise Garcia of Dallas County’s 303rd District Court, a Democrat.

Whitehill argues that voters should pick him because he’s shown he can do the job well with high approval ratings. But Garcia claims she is board certified in family law and child welfare law, and that the Fifth Court lacks a justice with that expertise.
