To address online comments that offended many attorneys, State Bar of Texas president Larry McDougal will launch a new program that brings lawyers together to have open, frank discussions about race.

At the bar’s board meeting Friday, McDougal announced his diversity plan, which is meant to heal the division he created within the bar from Facebook comments in July about Black Lives Matter, and past online comments about that group and other topics.
