U.S. District Judge Alan Albright’s early trial dates and approach to patent eligibility have made the Western District of Texas an extremely popular destination for patent owners. But the jury in his first patent infringement trial came down squarely for accused infringer Roku Inc. last week.

The seven-member panel found that neither Roku Players nor Roku TVs infringed any of MV3 partners’ eight asserted patent claims on a mobile set top box for streaming media. (Roku did not contest patent validity.)
