Unbelievably, we are less than one day away from Nov. 3.
The polls in the United States close officially on the first Tuesday of November, which happens to fall on Nov. 3 this year. Since the 1960s, Americans have grown accustomed to already knowing the outcome of the election within 24 hours of the closing of the polls.
