Over the past six months, the current U.S. administration has sought to define itself on a global stage by being the first to get COVID-19 vaccines to market. The idea is simple: Help Americans and sway public opinion by getting a COVID-19 vaccine or vaccines to market in not only record time, but a time so short that it defies the predictions of top experts as to what can be accomplished in that time frame.
