Litigants are asking for continuances of jury trials in Texas federal court after last week’s jury trial where jurors, lawyers and court staff caught COVID-19.

Initially, it was seven sick trial participants, but now 15 positive tests—two jurors, five court staff and eight from the plaintiffs and defense teams—have been traced to the in-person jury trial in the courtroom of Judge Amos Mazzant of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas in Sherman, said Court Clerk David O’Toole.
