After winning more than $143 million for a client in an employment dispute, lawyers from Porter Hedges in Houston followed up on Monday to try to recoup more than $3.6 million in attorney fees.

The attorney fee motion, which amounts to $4.03 million with interest, was requested by Judge Caroline Baker of Harris County’s 295th District Court. The judge had granted a former CEO an award of $143.73 million in a dispute with Downhole Technology, an energy services company that creates plugs for oil and gas hydraulic fracturing wells.
