In Texas, a federal court just struck down a claim for class certification in a Telephone Consumer Protection Act case in which Greenspoon Marder’s client was facing hundreds of millions of damages.

And the Greenspoon Marder litigators, Jeffrey A. Backman and Richard W. Epstein, who are partners at the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, said they hope this victory in the ongoing case for their insurance clients, USHealth Advisors LLC and USHealth Group Inc., will serve as a warning sign to what they call a “cottage industry” securing $500 fines for violations of the act.
