Lawyers will need to change the way they file sealed federal court documents because of the major hack on government and big-company networks that unfolded when Russian hackers infiltrated SolarWinds Orion's system.

The federal courts will implement new security procedures to protect very sensitive and confidential court records after the widespread cybersecurity breach that touched both private and government sector institutions, according to an announcement Wednesday. Some sealed court records that are very sensitive and confidential will need to be filed on paper, or on a device like a thumb drive that the courts will put on a secure, independent computer system.
