Sharing a passion for public service, two Kirkland & Ellis litigators are taking a break from Big Law and moving to the Harris County Attorney’s Office, which serves as the general counsel for the nation’s third-largest county.

Partner Jonathan Fombonne will join the Harris County Attorney’s Office on Feb. 3 to become  deputy to Christian Menefee, who was an associate at Kirkland prior to winning election last November. A Democrat, Menefee is the youngest and first Black Harris County attorney.
