Baker Botts has hired Julie Mayo, the head of Norton Rose Fulbright‘s U.S. oil and gas practice, as a partner in its energy projects and transactions section of the global projects department in Houston in another move linked to growing interest in the alternative energy sector.

Mayo, who joined Baker Botts on Thursday, had also been a member of Norton Rose’s partnership committee. She handles joint ventures, M&A and project development in sectors including oil and gas, LNG, power and renewable energy. She joined Norton Rose in 2015 from  Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.
