Houston Methodist Hospital has won an initial battle in litigation by employees over its COVID-19 vaccination mandate, and has a chance on Friday to toss the whole case.

After refusing the employees’ request for a temporary restraining order that would have paused a deadline for them to get the shot or face termination, a federal judge set a hearing Friday to hear the hospital’s arguments that the case is baseless and should face quick dismissal.
