Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill last week that seeks to protect social media users from censorship based on political views, while an appeals court reviews similar legislation in Florida.

Texas’ House Bill 20 prevents social media companies with more than 50 million monthly users from interference with digital expression, including political viewpoints shared on social media or through email. The law requires social media companies to disclose their content management and moderation policies and implement a complaint and appeals process for content they remove.
