Aceves is a solo practitioner and licensed by the bar since 2013. Shelby began her legal career as a general counsel for a clothing manufacturer company in Washington, D.C. In Dallas County, the next judge to be sworn into the 192nd District Court will depend on the outcome of a Democratic primary contest between Maria Aceves and Tracie Shelby.
