An alliance of journalism organizations and media law attorneys were able to convince a federal judge that a state law barring the use of drones by journalists is unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman of the Western District of Texas Austin Division on Tuesday released an opinion affecting two sections of state law regulating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, stating they violate the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution.
