A state appellate court threw out every cause of action in a lawsuit brought against the producer of My 600-Lb Life by a group of former program subjects.

Megalomedia Inc., the producer for the TLC show, appealed the dismissal of its motion for summary judgment in July 2020 to the Thirteenth District Court of Appeals. The case came from the 55th District Court, Harris County to the Fourteenth District Court of Appeals but was transferred to the Corpus Christi appellate court pursuant to a docket-equalization order.
