Trial firm Susman Godfrey, which only hires associates who have served at least one federal clerkship, has raised associate starting bonuses to a level that is certainly among the highest paid in the U.S.

The firm announced Tuesday that associates starting work at the firm this year will receive a $125,000 starting bonus after one clerkship at the federal or appellate level, and those who start at the firm immediately after completing two or more federal or appellate clerkships will receive a bonus of $150,000.
