The fate of a removed Confederate war memorial in downtown Dallas appears settled now that the Fifth District Court of Appeals has rejected the opposition’s appeal.

In keeping with a national trend among government bodies to reevaluate the cultural relevance of Civil War memorials to the Confederate cause, and in light of the social divisiveness they cause, Dallas City Council formed a task force to consider its fate.
