Granbury Lawyer Elected State Bar of Texas President-Elect

Texas attorneys have elected Cindy V. Tisdale of Granbury to be president-elect of the State Bar of Texas, on May 2.

Tisdale received 51.69%—11,081—of the 21,437 votes cast during the monthlong voting period that ended May 2. Her opponent, Jose "Joe" Escobedo Jr. of Edinburg, received 48.31%, or 10,356 votes.

Tisdale was sworn in as president-elect during a State Bar of Texas Board of Directors meeting  June 9 and will serve as president of the State Bar of Texas from June 2023 to June 2024.

Tisdale, with the Law Office of Cindy V. Tisdale in Granbury and of counsel to Lynch, Chappell & Alsup in Midland, is certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She earned her J.D. in 1995 from Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas. Tisdale served as 2013-2014 chair of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. She also served as chair of the Texas Bar Foundation from 2017 to 2018 and chair of the State Bar Family Law Section from 2017 to 2018. She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow in the American Academy of Family Law Specialists, a fellow in the International Academy of Family Law Specialists, a member of the Texas Bar College, and a member of the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas.
