John P. Chupp, the Republican candidate and incumbent judge in Tarrant County's 141st District Court, will take on civil law attorney Stefanie Klein.
Chupp was appointed to the bench 13 years ago. In 2020, Chupp made an unsuccessful run for a seat at the Second District Court of Appeals. Chupp drew media attention in August 2021 when he approved a restraining order against Fort Worth Independent School District, stating the district lacked the authority to require face masks.
