Baker Botts on Friday announced year-end associate and special counsel bonuses ranging up to $115,000 for senior associates, becoming the first Am Law 100 firm in Texas to announce bonuses at the market bonus scale set by Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Baker McKenzie.

While some Big Law firms have been slow to announce a bonus scale, due to uncertainties in the economy for 2023 and overcapacity issues at some firms, a number of other firms announced year-end bonuses on Friday, including Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison; Davis Polk & Wardwell; Debevoise & Plimpton; Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton; and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. The firms moved to the market rate.
