The suburban Dallas medical device company Orthofix this week abruptly fired chief legal officer Patrick Keran, along with CEO Keith Valentine and chief financial officer John Bostjancic.

Orthofix's board of directors voted to terminate the trio on Tuesday following an independent investigation by an outside law firm that "determined that each of these executives engaged in repeated inappropriate and offensive conduct that violated multiple code of conduct requirements and was inconsistent with the company's values and culture," the company said in a statement.

The announcement was sparse on details, but in a statement board chair Catherine Burzik, an independent director with deep health care experience who is stepping in as interim CEO, said the conduct involved harassment and other inappropriate workplace behaviors.
