Am Law 100 firms homegrown in Texas are following Big Law compensation moves, with Vinson & Elkins and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld notifying associates on Thursday — and Baker Botts on Friday — that they will be paid at the new higher salary scale set by Cravath.

Vinson & Elkins and Akin also indicated in memos that they will pay bonuses at the Cravath Swaine & Moore scale, which matches last year’s elite firm scale. Baker Botts matched, except its scale did not list bonuses for the class of 2023. Cravath announced its compensation scales on Tuesday, and a quickly growing number of Am Law 100 firms have matched.
