Austin’s Third Court of Appeals Place 3 Justice Thomas J. Baker will have to defeat a Travis County district court judge in the Democratic primary to get a second term.

Karin Crump, presiding judge of the 250th District Court announced her run for Place 5 in November. During her 10 years as a civil trial judge, Crump has repeatedly had a spotlight on her because if cases of statewide impact involving the Texas Office of Attorney General and issues concerning contested elections laws, immigrant rights and others.
