The plaintiff's attorney alleged Musk's New York attorney Alex Spiro violated ethics rules during a deposition and should not be admitted in Texas.
Quinn Emanuel attorney Spiro blamed the plaintiff's attorney's behavior and questioning for a contentious hearing.

A Texas jurist, Travis County 459th District Court Judge Maria Cantu Hexsel, denied motions for sanctions brought by opposing counsel in the Elon Musk defamation lawsuit.

In addition, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan attorneys Alex Spiro and Cory D. Struble were granted admission for pro hac vice related to Musk’s defense representation.
