Haynes and Boone has expanded its pro bono commitment by hiring Rachel Elkin, formerly director of legal services at Genesis Women's Shelter & Support, as the firm's first pro bono counsel to oversee the Dallas-founded firm's global pro bono program.
The Am Law 100 firm's growth of its pro bono team comes shortly after it received the W. Frank Newton Award from the State Bar of Texas and its Legal Services to the Poor in Civil Matters Committee. The firm devoted more than 16,000 hours, valued at $12.6 million in legal fees, to pro bono work in 2023.
