Great mentors often have had great mentors themselves. Who are some of yours, and what made them effective?

One of the most influential figures in my life was my law professor, Ronald Bretz. Professor Bretz was primarily a criminal law and procedure professor, but for me, his lessons went far beyond subject he taught. He taught me that being a great lawyer isn't just about mastering your chosen field; it's about understanding the broader landscape of the law and embracing areas outside your comfort zone.
