Elia Cornejo Lopez, the former 404th District Court judge in Brownsville, was publicly reprimanded by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct for making personal and disparaging statements against a family law attorney.
On Oct. 1, 2020, attorney Reynaldo Garza, representing Jasmine Cuellar in a modification of the parent-child relationship, filed an amended motion to recuse Lopez in the Garcia v Cuellar case.
