Ever watch the movie "The Karate Kid"? Recently, while re-watching, I realized that labeling the movie as one about karate is like saying that "Moby Dick" is a novel about a whale. Rather, it is a movie on mentorship. An older sensei (teacher) starts to teach a younger acolyte (student) on the art of karate. The teaching starts, not with how to break boards, but rather with how to wax a car ("wax on, wax off"), sand a floor, paint the fence—which educates him on the basics on blocking a karate punch. Very basic, very useful. Here is the link to the scene.
