DLA Piper LLP (US) and DLA Piper LLP (Argentina) have been hit with a legal malpractice suit, filed by two Houston companies that allege misconduct by a "fake lawyer" employed at DLA who was not licensed as an attorney but was held out by the firm as an attorney qualified to give them legal advice.

Plaintiffs Noble Generation, a project development company, and Caelum Capital, which handles financing, seek more than $1 million in damages from the defendants.
