Jackson Walker and Kirkland & Ellis, along with former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge David Jones and former Jackson Walker partner Elizabeth Freeman, just won a round of litigation filed by a Texas man who sought monetary damages from the defendants in connection with an undisclosed romantic relationship between Jones and Freeman.

On Monday, Alia Moses, chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, signed an order dismissing the suit plaintiff Michael Van Deelen filed against the firms, Jones and Freeman. That order comes four months after she issued a memorandum opinion conditionally dismissing the suit that alleged the defendants conspired to hide Jones' relationship with bankruptcy attorney Elizabeth Freeman in order to obtain favorable rulings.
