Butler Snow attorneys, acting as counsel for the Texas General Land Office, are asking the U.S. Department of Justice to reject a request from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to start a race-based housing discrimination enforcement action.
The case is based on findings of a years-long HUD investigation that began in 2021 with a complaint filed by Relman Colfax attorneys on behalf of nonprofit advocacy organizations Texas Housers and Northeast Action Collective.
