By merging on the first day of 2008 with Dallas firm Hughes & Luce, K&L Gates moves onto Texas Lawyer ‘s list of the five out-of-state firms with the highest-grossing Texas operations in 2008.
K&L Gates of Pittsburgh joins returning firms Jones Day of Cleveland, Weil, Gotshal & Manges of New York, Hunton & Williams of Richmond, Va., and King & Spalding of Atlanta on the list. The addition of K&L Gates, which has offices in Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth, means Chicago firm Mayer Brown from the list. [ See related charts, page 35.]
