On March 24, a judge ruled against a worker who had accused his former employer of age discrimination. Nicholas Frazier claimed he was fired by Vista Air Services in 2006, after an argument with a co-worker. The former air conditioning installer said he was replaced by a younger worker soon after. He alleged age was the determining factor in his termination, in violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act. He further claimed that, during his employment, a supervisor told him he was lucky to have a job at his age. Vista denied firing Frazier, arguing its supervisor had sent him home on the day of the argument to cool off. The company said it tried to call Frazier a week later to come back but couldn’t reach him. It also denied hiring anyone to replace him.
