Bernard Dolenz, a former Dallas lawyer who was disbarred in 2000, has lost his second bid to take possession of paintings and artwork created by famed Highland Park portrait artist Dmitri Vail, who died in 1991 at age 88.
Vail was well-known in Dallas, hitting his stride in the 1950s and 1960s, and according to his obituary published in The Dallas Morning News , Vail painted portraits of celebrities including Carol Burnett, Audie Murphy and Mickey Rooney.
