As the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts faced off on the field in Feb. 7′s Super Bowl XLIV, lawyers were organizing a team to represent a Texas man detained in Haiti.

According to an online story the Amarillo Globe-News published today, 47-year-old Jim Allen and nine others were part of a Baptist missionary group arrested Jan. 29 at the Haitian border for allegedly trying to take 33 Haitian children to the Dominican Republic following a catastrophic earthquake. Allen owns a small construction and welding business in Amarillo.
