Early voting for the March 2 primary election will begin on Feb. 16 in Harris County, with two judicial candidates unhappy not to be listed first in their races on the Democratic ballot, after winning a drawing to determine their places.
On Feb. 9, 164th District Judge Alexandra Smoots-Hogan of Houston denied a motion for a temporary restraining order sought by judicial candidates Dennis Slate and Javier Valenzuela that would have prevented the Harris County Clerk’s Office from conducting early voting on a Democratic ballot that doesn’t list them first in their races.
