In keeping with the old adage “the best defense is a strong offense,” former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin has responded to a civil suit filed by a Florida woman who alleges Irvin raped her by filing a suit of his own.

As noted in his Feb. 5 original petition filed in the 192nd District Court in Dallas County, Irvin seeks more than $100 million in damages against the woman for alleged tortious interference with current and prospective business relations, conspiracy, defamation and slander, defamation per se, civil extortion and duress.
