A series of related transactions involving energy companies and valued at about $900 million closed on May 26.

In one $300 million transaction, Dallas-based Energy Transfer Equity, a publicly traded partnership, acquired the general partner interest in Regency Energy Partners from an affiliate of GE Energy Financial Services, which is headquartered in Stamford, Conn. Latham & Watkins corporate partner Charles E. Carpenter of New York City, who represents GE Energy Financial, says the seller in the transaction was Regency GP Acquirer LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Energy Financial.
