The Public Integrity Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office announced July 27 that it has closed its investigation into allegations that employees of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro) destroyed public documents and failed to comply with open records requests in violation of the Texas Public Information Act.
“A careful analysis of all of this information led to the determination that there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by employees of METRO concerning the Texas Public Information Act, nor was there any evidence that any METRO employee had knowledge of the destruction of public records,” the DA’s office announced in a written statement.
