A malpractice suit against Thompson & Knight will go forward in New York state after an appeals court there upheld a lower court’s decision declining to dismiss the suit on forum non conveniens grounds.

“In this legal malpractice action, the motion court did not abuse its discretion in declining to dismiss this action on forum non conveniens grounds,” a panel of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department, decided on July 27.
