A panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed and remanded a $10,000 sanction against Ophelia F. Camiña, a partner in Susman Godfrey in Dallas.

On Sept. 13, a 5th Circuit panel found that U.S. District Judge David Godbey of Dallas “lacked inherent authority” to impose sanctions against Camiña for her conduct in an arbitration in Positive Software Solutions Inc. v. New Century Mortgage Corp., et al.
