T. Gerald Treece, a professor at South Texas College of Law, says nothing could have prepared him for the challenge of the past year serving as executor of the estate of his longtime friend — prominent Houston plaintiffs lawyer John M. O’Quinn.

O’Quinn, sole owner of The O’Quinn Law Firm of Houston, died in a one-car automobile accident on Oct. 29, 2009, in Houston. Johnny LeeCutliff, an employee of O’Quinn’s firm who was a passenger in the car O’Quinn was driving, also perished.
