After a bitter six-week trial that resulted in an $8.8 million plaintiff’s verdict, plaintiff Gary Cruciani and defendants Baron & Budd and Russell Budd settled the contentious litigation.

On Oct. 26, Judge Martin Hoffman of Dallas County’s 68th District Court signed an agreed order granting a motion for new trial and 27 minutes later signed an agreed order dismissing the suit with prejudice. “The Court finds that the Motion is well-taken and hereby grants the Parties’ motion and orders that this lawsuit is hereby dismissed with prejudice,” Hoffman wrote.
