Some lawyers who don’t become equity partners in their firms quietly move on to other employment. But Kate Moseley wants two leaders of Patton Boggs’ Dallas office to tell her why she didn’t get promoted and, as alleged, why the firm didn’t pay her partnership bonuses, among other things.
Moseley left her position as a non-equity partner in Patton Boggs last year. She now is a non-equity partner in the Dallas office of Alston + Bird. On Jan. 7 she filed a Verified Petition Requesting Deposition Duces Tecum Before Suit under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 202. She seeks to depose Larry Makel, a founding partner of Patton Boggs’ Dallas office and member of the firm’s national executive committee; and Charlie Miller, firmwide deputy managing partner and a member of the management committee.
