Plaintiff awarded $31,548 for soft-tissue injuries

On March 3, a jury awarded $31,548 to a woman who claimed soft-tissue injuries in a rear-ender. In 2005, Keesha Nix was at a red light when she was struck by Patrick M. Williams. He conceded liability. Nix claimed soft-tissue injuries to her neck, lower back, shoulders and right hip. Her physical therapy and chiropractic treatment lasted for approximately 10 months. Defense counsel argued that Nix sustained a subsequent injury to her back and hip while working as a nurse.
