A former law firm employee has filed two suits against her ex-employers: one in county court alleging civil barratry and another in federal court alleging failure to pay overtime — allegations the defendants deny.

In her Dec. 6, 2011, petition and request for disclosure in Maryann Uribe v. Paul D. Andrews, et al., Uribe alleges the following: Shortly before Oct. 28, 2011, the defendants — the Gould Law Firm, the Andrews & Gould Firm, Paul D. Andrews and Keith M. Gould — approached her with a one-year contract dictating terms of her employment beginning on Nov. 1, 2011.
