Whenever someone mentions that he “might be a sex addict” or that her “husband/boyfriend/acquaintance is a sex addict,” I often think, “And who isn’t?” Where pleasure is involved, all humans have the potential for addiction.

Of course, there are extremes of behavior that set some apart, but sex, like war and money, is one of the most unwieldy aspects of human life. It is so basic, so rooted in human nature, that everyone struggles in some way with it, and no one, not even the pope or the Dalai Lama, handles it perfectly.
