All cases filed in the state’s justice of the peace courts will be handled as small claims if the Texas Supreme Court adopts rules proposed by a special task force.

Chip Babcock, chairman of the Supreme Court Advisory Committee, says the committee completed its review of rules proposed by the Task Force for Rules in Small Claims Cases and Justice Court Proceedings during a meeting held Sept. 28 and 29 in Houston. He says the committee began its review of the rules during a two-day meeting in June.
