Man punched while he was carrying child awarded $97,775

On Feb 18, a man who claimed that he was punched while he was holding a child and unable to defend himself was awarded $97,775. In 2006, Chris Tebbe was charged with assault by threat based on a complaint by Brett Richard. He was found not guilty at trial. In 2008, Tebbe and Richard were involved in a confrontation. He claimed Richard punched Tebbe without provocation while he was holding the child. Tebbe claimed Richard knowingly made false accusations against him in 2006. The award consisted of $60,000 in punitive damages.
